After the massive destruction by the terrible earthquakes and life-claiming hurricanes that left almost every aspect of Haitian society devastated, rescuing the lives of the injured, and every other victim of the deadly incidents and providing food, water, shelter, medical care and more became a top-of-the-mind issue. However, as rebuilding continues, we at Illuminating Lives Foundation are sturdily committed to the reformation of the most dysfunctional Haiti education sector as it is crucial to the success of the overall efforts to rebuild Haitian society and in several ways determine the sustainability of the country’s longer-term security and stabilization needs.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

– Proverbs 22:6

Truthfully, a much more significant percentage of Haiti students at school suffered from abject lack of school supplies such as teaching and learning aids, including computers, textbooks, notebooks, chalks, school chairs and tables, and a comfortable learning environment, and more. To properly deal with Haiti’s educational pressing challenges, supplying teaching and learning aids to schools is very crucial to ensure the children have a sound education that brightens their path and builds them for the future leadership role even beyond Haiti boundaries.

On the contrary, it is so pathetic that as much as the Haiti educational sector needs urgent assistance, it is given very little financial support and attention. Many schools in Haiti use outdated curricula, while others teach with a few available resources. Many students had to repeat a grade because they lack what they need to learn comfortably. Sadly, Haiti’s quality of education is in a dilapidating position because of a shortage of school materials, expertise, proper management, and organization. Parents are too poor to pay tuition fees; qualified teachers are very few; the learning environment is not conducive; undoubtedly, the educational sector is in a state of emergency!

Innocent children need your help now. Their survival hangs on your kind donations.
