We are a non-for-profit foundation that fights for the betterment of the quality of life of people. Those of us who are part of the foundation share the love of our fellow people. This is a fundamental element of an innate responsibility to ease the difficulties faced by those in need.

Our objective is to effectively provide professional support whether it be economical, technical or guidance with specialized programs that encompass our vision.

Over the years, we have fervently served a countless number of underprivileged men and women including vulnerable children throughout the boundaries of Haiti. in the effort to accomplish our God-leading mission, we have extended our helping hands to several countries far and near through evangelism, education, essential services, training, partnering, financial support and more to ensure they get access to healthy and productive living as well as fulfil God’s purpose for their lives.

As we help the vulnerable (both adults and children) to enjoy a better quality of life, we utilize a holistic approach that addresses their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs to ensure a complete change of life.

FOOD PROGRAM 

In the efforts to overcome the life-threatening hunger crisis in Haiti, we launched a project called: FEEDaCHILDinHAITI, where we provide hundreds of thousands of hunger-stricken men, women, and children with healthy lunches and drinks every day.

Illuminating Lives gives absolute attention to consistent food supply to the hunger-stricken people in Haiti and other countries where poverty and hunger are high-flying. Our passion and desire are to see the hungry feeding like the rich in abundance. We organize this food program to eliminate malnutrition and premature death caused by chronic hunger and constant intake of unhealthy food substances – a good meal promotes healthy living! We feel a responsibility as many people of different ages keep dying of hunger, and we are filled with the passion for abolishing hunger. We feed more than 2 000 children per day.

Some of the benefits our FeedaCHILDinHAITI project offers include:

• Training mothers to screen children for malnutrition
• Building hygienic water storage systems
• Training people on how to improve their hygiene
• Providing cash-based food assistance to help families affected.

MEDICAL PROGRAM

Our medical program is designed to stand as a steadfast defence against the overpowering health crisis in Haiti while saving the dying people, and prevent the outbreak of deadly diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, cholera, rabies, and other health problems which have claimed several lives of innocent Haitians prematurely.

We are much committed to our medical program as it deals directly with the lives of the people. As we continuously strive to ensure a healthy nation through this program, we utilize modern medical equipment to restore the lives of the dying Haitians and provide sufficient medical support through our experienced medical practitioners. Over the years, Illuminating Lives has been in partnership with distinguished health professionals and standard medical facilities to ensure sound public health.

Our medical program scheme provides:

• Access to free primary health care
• Access to free drugs
• Access to experienced and qualified medical personnel
• Free diagnostic testing for HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, Cholera and other health problems
• Sound training on personal hygiene and more.

QUALITY EDUCATION PROGRAM 

Our education program is called Lighting Lives Foundation. Illuminating Lives takes responsibility to help both the uneducated children and illiterate adults gain access to quality education from their early stages of life. We recognize that Haiti’s illiteracy level is below the average and that about 50% of Haitian children are presently enrolled in school. Hence, we focus on giving the underprivileged people in Haiti, and other countries benefit from the best quality education that will help enlighten them and enable them to maximize their God-given potential. Most notably, education plays a very crucial role in the integral development of children.

Every year, our programs contribute to this goal, as it features remote and distance learning programs, construction of modern and conducive school buildings, provision of adequate training for teachers, and supplying essential teaching aids. We also provide financial support for the families of poor students to enable physical and mental growth.

CLOTHING PROGRAM

In a country like Haiti, where some families are so impoverished that the children are either dressed in rags or naked, the provision of clothing is more than necessary. Our clothing program is anchored in Matthew 25:36, which says that when we wear a needy, we dress Jesus. We firmly believe in scripture and accept that by supplying clothes, shoes, and everything of basic necessity to the needy, we act according to the heart of God.

Our clothing program consistently provides good shirts, trousers, gowns, skirts, clothes, shoes, underwear, and other clothing items for adults and children. We aim to clothe the naked to prevent them from contracting diseases and developing sickness and make them look gorgeous while attending occasions. We take it as a responsibility to clothe the naked and replace their rags with beautiful apparel.

ORPHANAGE

Our orphanage is called Children of Light Orphanage. We organize this orphanage to save the future of thousands of children who lost their parents to the disastrous earthquakes, home violence, and abuse, or premature death from long-time starving. Homelessness is one of the most challenging factors here in Haiti and some other poverty-stricken countries. Our orphanage serves as an abode for homeless children who have become a wanderer looking for daily survival. Our orphanage does not only provide homes for orphans; we have God-fearing passionate parents who are dedicated to serving the orphans helping them to enjoy parental love and care, a consistent good meal, sound education, beautiful clothing, and other vital things they have lost with their previous homes. At our orphanage, we shelter children with love and give them hope and nurture them in a godly way to become what God destined for them.

Also, we just newly renovated our orphanage, acquire a new location, and also get new helping hands to give the children a more comfortable life.

PRISON VISITATION PROGRAM

More than often, we visit many prisons to extend our love and care to the inmates providing them with tasty meals, beautiful clothes, and soul-lifting encouragement to help fill their spirits with hope. Besides, another very significant help we give to the inmates is sharing the word of God with them. The aim is to lead them to Christ and increase their hope in God.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

Since many disasters have destroyed many homes and properties, several women have been without a job or vocation to support their families. At Illuminating Lives, we provide diverse vocational training for underprivileged women to help them become helpful to their families and useful for society. We believe so much in empowering women and making them stand independently to function correctly as a ‘helpmeet’ that God made them.

Our women empowerment program entails providing them the tools required for the respective vocations while leaning and also after they have finished their training. We also support them finically to establish them and ensure they practice the vocations they have learned.

MEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

in our empowerment program for men, we help the underprivileged men to follow their dreams, achieve their goals, and strive for greatness because we believe in their future. Men are an essential element of society; as we empower them, we build society’s future. As an outcome of this program, we have created a movement of empowered and able men who are responsible to their families and the nation as we empower hundreds of thousands of boys and men to achieve success financially, academically, socially, and spiritually.

As we empower men in different parts of the world, we provide them quality education and enrol them for training in various vocations. We don’t just train them; we make sure that they are provided all the necessary tools during training and after training. We also offer them with the basic needs of life, including food, clothes, shelter, medical attention, and more.

This program is committed to ensuring men’s growth and development through sound training on goal setting, leadership, entrepreneurship, parenting, relationships, community development, and more.

HELP FOR THE OLD

We understand that aging is a crucial factor that limits one’s productivity in life. The elderly, especially the underprivileged ones, need more care and attention to sustain a sound physical and mental health. At Illuminating lives, we love older adults and ensure that they get all the support they need to stay active and healthy. We cater for the aged by constant visitation with food supplies, medical treatments, beautiful clothes that fits for different seasons, and more.

Older men and women are vulnerable. For them to stay in good health as an older adult requires much more than what medication and treatment alone have to offer. This is why we focus on providing them with personal care which includes:

• Helping them to prepare tasty and healthy meals
• Helping them to clean and maintain their homes
• Provision of financial support
• Provision of domestic assistant to help them run Running Errands
• Helping them to communicate with their relatives on the phone
• Helping them to take medications in compliant with doctor’s prescription

CHURCH FOR THE COMMUNITY
As a faith-based organization, we are much concerned about the spiritual growth of the people – both young and old – and we cherish that as a significant pillar of our foundation. In Haiti, we build a church where we teach and raise worshippers to God’s glory. In addition, we are also committed to going from country to country to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus as instructed by Jesus in Mathew 28:19 – 20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you….”
